Rapid Neurofascial Reset (RAPID NFR) is an innovative approach to pain relief and wellness. This neurologically based, evidence-backed therapeutic technique focuses on addressing the central nervous system’s role in alleviating tension and restrictions within the body. Unlike traditional methods, RAPID does not physically release muscles or tissues; instead, it stimulates the nervous system to create transformative change in the body.
Neurological Approach to Healing and Wellness
Neurology plays a vital role in RAPID NFR. It encompasses the brain, spinal cord, and major nerves in the body, regulating responses, emotions, hormones, and pain. RAPID stimulates the nervous system to reset muscle tone, tension, and pain, effectively restoring the body’s well-being. It uses movement, precision, and specific pressures to increase blood flow, alleviate tissue tension, and change sensory feedback, providing near-immediate and lasting pain reduction.
RAPID is highly effective in treating both chronic and acute pain, as well as limited mobility. It provides sensory input to connective tissues, addressing both chronic inflammation and the biopsychosocial model of pain. RAPID aims to desensitize the nervous system and reduce chronic artifacts of inflammation left from prior injuries, which are known to cause pain and dysfunction.
Each RAPID session involves a combination of examination and treatment. The therapist assesses the texture, tightness, and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Hypersensitive areas are treated by applying precise tension alongside specific patient movements. While RAPID sessions may be uncomfortable, this discomfort occurs as the neurological system is stimulated to restore normal function.
RAPID NFR has proven effective in addressing a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
RAPID NFR is suitable for individuals:
What Should I Wear For My Session?
RAPID sessions are done fully clothed; comfortable, soft, and flexible clothing that allows for some movement is required for the treatment. (No Jeans)
Avoid icing after a RAPID session to support your body’s natural healing process by allowing the inflammatory response to occur.
Individuals’ medication requirements may vary; it is advisable to consult your healthcare provider regarding specific medications. For better results with RAPID, it is recommended to avoid anti inflammatory.
How Many Sessions Do I Need to See Good Results?
Most painful conditions are resolved in 2-8 sessions.
To preventing future injury and pain, consider getting maintenance sessions every 3-4 weeks to keep your body in check.
RAPID NFR sessions are typically not covered by insurance. However, these sessions are an investment in your well-being and can provide valuable relief from pain and discomfort.
These focused sessions devote undivided attention to a specified area of concern and discomfort to provide targeted relief.
These sessions utilize specific pressures, active and therapeutic techniques to release tensions and promote relaxation in the area of concern.
Whether you are experiencing muscle tightness, stress-related tension, or specific discomfort in a particular region, these sessions aim to alleviate your discomfort and restore balance to the targeted area.
A shiatsu session covers the whole body, knowing that an area of pain can have its origin elsewhere. By working the whole body, we can find restrictions, tensions, or weak areas that were previously unknown and work those areas, bringing space and flow to the first area of concern by the same token.
Shiatsu works with areas of tension and weakness altogether, bringing the whole body to a better balance.
The pressures applied work with the nervous system to help ‘reset’ the areas of tightness, and allow other areas to be strengthened, by bringing awareness to them.
The sustained pressures also work by altering the body’s perception of pain. By breathing and relaxing into the area, it allows to "befriend" the discomfort and add a sense of safety to the sensation, letting the body melt the tension away or regain needed vitality.
In areas where tissues are constricted, the lack of circulation can result in a build up of waste products that irritates the nerve endings which heightens the experience of pain.
The manual compressions help by increasing circulation, hydration and flexibility to the tissues and their surrounding, reducing pain and inflammation.
Shiatsu works to balance and increase the flow of energy through the body and to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities, promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Comfortable, soft, and flexible clothing is required for the treatment.
